At Zion, our musical focus is on the Psalmist’s direction: “Make a Joyful Noise unto the Lord”
Adult Vocal Choir & Hand Bell Choir
meet weekly at 7pm
under the Direction of Pete Martinez
Our musical ensembles embrace this and believe that their Joyful Noise provides an additional vehicle for God’s Word and Spirit to reach members of the church family and the community. We are always on the lookout for new members for both choirs as well as individuals who are willing to contribute their instrumental skills to our worship services.
Choir Information: Zion has two choirs
An Adult vocal choir and an English Hand bell choir. Primary Focus is to provide musical support during the church’s worship services
Hand Bell Musical Choir meets at 7pm on Mondays. Practice occurs in preparation of Easter Sunday and Christmas Eve, generally from August through April. The Bell Choir uses a two octave set of Schulmerich English Hand Bells and a two octave set of Schulmerich Hand Chimes (also known as Melody Chimes). As with the vocal choir, the choir rehearses and performs selections from the classic masters to new composers.
Adult Vocal Choir rehearses inside the church on Wednesdays at 7pm from August through June with, or just after service during lent and advent season. They perform a range of selections from Bach and Mozart, to settings of well-known hymns, spirituals, and contemporary praise songs. We have been especially effective in developing a contemporary music service in which the choir and congregation work together to support the worship service.
All church members are invited to join in the practice sessions
The only experience required, is a desire to come share your gift of Praises and Sing to the Heavens.
So, if you want to be part of the joy, please contact the church office, the pastor, or our music director.
We are confident that you will feel the spirit and enjoy the fellowship as we “make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise”.
