Confirmation Class
Teachings by Pastor Greg
ZION currently confirms its Youth in the 7th Grade
Classes are scheduled during Sunday School hour
Pastor Greg leads the students through an overview of the six chief parts of Luther's Small Catechism. One definition of confirmation is, "that which gives proof; a convincing testimony." Pastor Greg engages the students in healthy discussions during the class period that include Biblical teachings and life experiences.
We at Zion want the student to be able to express their Christian faith in a meaningful, convincing way.
Please contact Pastor Greg for information and dates on Children's Communion Classes or for preparation of Adult Confirmation

Children's Sunday School
Preschool classes: Pre-K to 1st grade teacher - Pat Davila
The children are taught a short, age appropriate Bible lesson with a theme that can be understood further during children's sermon. Class is followed by a light snack and they may enjoy some outside play, weather permitting.
Children 2nd thru 4th grade: teacher - Myra Hunsicker
The teacher shares age appropriate Bible stories. With the help of several dedicated assistants, the children complete a craft project to help them further understand the Bible story theme.
Children & Youth - 5th thru 12th grade: teacher - Emily Bippert
Little Luther Lights (LLL) - is the youth group for our youngest members. One of the activities in which the children participate is the annual, traditional nativity pageant in December.
Angel Choir - On specific Sundays of each month, the children perform a song during the worship service.
Clara's Cards - is an outreach program. Children create greeting cards to spread comfort and joy. Cards are available, at no charge, to anyone who would like one. Special cards can also be ordered by contacting Pat Davila at grawdavila@yahoo.com.
All children are invited to become a part of "the future of Zion."
Children's Sunday Sermon
Myra Hunsicker (known as "Oma")
follows in Garden Granny's Ministry; to continue teaching the children, the "True Word of God."
Marcia Hart, is known to the children (& adults) as "Garden Granny." She has shared her lessons for several years during Sunday Morning Worship Service just before the Pastor's sermon.
With her crazy gardening hat and wicker basket of "goodies," she quickly gains the children's attention.
Granny uses the parables of Jesus and the scriptures that teach about him. Her heart's desire is that the children come to know and love Jesus at this tender age.
She constantly reiterates that the Bible is, “The True Word of God.” Although the children's sermon is short, the hope and prayer is that the simple truths will remain with the little ones for the rest of their lives.
