Christian Education is for All Ages

Confirmation Class

 Teachings by Pastor Greg

ZION currently confirms its Youth in the 7th Grade

Classes are scheduled during Sunday School hour

Pastor Greg leads the students through an overview of the six chief parts  of Luther's Small Catechism. One definition of confirmation is, "that which  gives proof; a convincing testimony." Pastor Greg engages the students in healthy discussions during the class period that include Biblical teachings and life experiences.

We at Zion want the student to be able to express their Christian faith in a meaningful, convincing way.

Please contact Pastor Greg for information and dates on Children's Communion Classes or for preparation of Adult Confirmation

Children's Sunday School

Teachers: Pat Davila and Danae Kohlleppel

Preschool classes:  for 2 years and under  teacher - Danae Kohlleppel

Their room is a beautifully decorated space in the Fuos House. The children are taught a short, age-appropriate Bible lesson, then a short play period, and a snack.

Children ages 3 and up:  teacher - Pat Davila.

She keeps the children spellbound with Bible stories. Stories are followed by a craft project to provide a visual and further illustration of the story. They enjoy a delicious treat.

The children on occasion, share what they have learned in Sunday school during Sunday service through an expression of short interactive plays, songs, their greeting card ministry,  and assisting with communion service.

Little Luther Lights (LLL) - is the youth group for our littlest members. The children participate in many fun activities throughout the year.  Some of our events are: GG's Valentines, Sunday School take-over services, and an old-fashioned nativity pageant.

Angel Choir - the angel choir (our sunday achool children) perform on the 4th Sunday.  They sing traditional and new songs. Sometimes they perform tunes with hand bells. Practices for the angel choir occur during the Sunday school hour. Under the direction of Danae Kohlleppel.

Clara's Cards - is a children's Sunday school outreach program. Its purpose is to create fellowship between the many generations that we are blessed with at Zion. The children's messages spread the joy and comfort that we're granted by Jesus!  You can order a hand-drawn greeting card for any special occasion.

All children are invited to become a part of "the future of Zion."

Children's  Sunday Sermon
Marcia Hart

is known to the children (and adults) as “Garden Granny”

She shares her lesson during Sunday Morning Worship Service just before the Pastor's sermon.

With her crazy gardening hat and wicker basket of "goodies," she quickly gains the children's attention.

Granny uses the parables of Jesus and the scriptures that teach about him. Her heart's desire is that the children come to know and love Jesus at this tender age.

She constantly reiterates that the Bible is, “The True Word of God.”  Although the children's sermon is short, the hope and prayer is that the simple truths will remain with the little ones for the rest of their lives.
